Sligo until now has been relatively unexplored, however as a destination it has literally everything to offer.

There are several blue flag beaches within a 10 min drive from The Clarion. Strandhill is renowned for its International surfing. Freshwater and Deep sea fishing are also popular during the fishing season, sea fishing trips operate from Mullaghmore and Rosses Point, again just a few minutes from the hotel.

Other activities and attractions in close proximity include horse riding farms, Sligo Folk Park, Celtic Seaweed baths, Parks Castle, Lisadell House, Lough Bo Shooting, Lough Gill Boat trips, Niland Modern Art Gallery, Mountain climbing - Knocknarea and Benbulben, Glencar waterfalls, Eagles flying Wild bird sanctuary, and of course the many festivals and fleadhs in the local villages.
